Erdogan, Omani sultan hold talks in Muscat
The visit began with an official welcoming ceremony at Al Alam Palace, followed by a bilateral meeting between Erdogan and Sultan Haitham. Senior Turkish officials attending the ceremony included Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Trade Minister Omer Bolat, National Intelligence Organization head Ibrahim Kalin, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, and other top officials.
After the private discussions, Erdogan presented Türkiye’s homegrown electric vehicle, TOGG, to Sultan Haitham. The two leaders inspected the car in the palace courtyard while Minister Kacir briefed the Sultan on the EV’s features.
The visit concluded with a dinner hosted by Sultan Haitham in honor of the Turkish president.
Oman was the third and final stop of Erdogan’s three-day Gulf tour, following visits to Kuwait and Qatar.
